From Milan to England, Scotland or Wales with a dog or cat: check documents, dog treatments and approved routes.

Distinguish the destination
England, Scotland and Wales fall under the rules of Great Britain; Northern Ireland follows a distinct path. The GOV.UK website provides for different documents according to the origin. For those arriving from the EU, a passport for animals issued in the EU is included among the permitted options. Also check microchip, anti-racing and entry mode on the official guide, without automatically extending the directions to the return trip.
For the dog also counts the hour
For a dog coming from Italy, the treatment against tenia should normally be performed by the veterinarian 24 to 120 hours before entering Britain. Your veterinarian must register it in the travel document. Ragiona on arrival time, not only on the day of departure from Milan. A delay beyond the allowed window can make it necessary to repeat the treatment.
Book a suitable route
Check the routes and allowed companies for entry with animals. Confirm directly with the carrier species, number of animals and modes of transport before buying the ticket. Dedicated places may not coincide with the availability of normal passengers. Write in a single prospectus starting, crossing, document control and arrival; assigns margins for the unforeseen without crossing the sanitary windows.
The move of the furniture is a separate floor
Do not bind the safety of the animal’s journey to the punctuality of the truck. Prepare a usable accommodation even if the delivery is reprogrammed and communicates to the team which room must be released first. If you expect a future return to Italy, check the requirements applicable from Great Britain to the EU: do not assume that the same documents used on the way are sufficient. The GOV.UK guide must be read before each trip.
