A house of eighty square meters does not automatically produce a precise volume of furniture to be deposited. Two apartments of the same surface can have completely different furniture and quantity of boxes. To obtain a useful assessment, please describe the content to be transferred, its ability to dismantling and the need for access during the custody. The initial estimate thus becomes a concrete basis to be verified.
Measuring objects that affect more
Start with the bulky furnishings: sofas, wardrobes, beds, tables, bookcases and appliances. Indicates width, depth and height, without looking for a millimetre accuracy where it is not necessary. For a modular sofa, take pictures of the different modules and report if they are separable. A wardrobe can occupy a different space once disassembled, but not all pieces lend themselves to the same processing. Let the actual mode be evaluated based on structure and conditions.
Add less visible boxes and contents
The inventory of the furnishings is not enough when full storage, bookcases or kitchen cabinets remain. Estimate the number of boxes already ready and photograph the items still to be packed. Distinguish large containers from small ones; do not consider each equivalent box. Remember folding chairs, rolled carpets, sports equipment and contents of balcony or cellar. If a part is not deposited, highlight it in the images to prevent it from being included in the evaluation.
Separate volume and management modes
Space is not the only element of service. Protections, fragility, possibility to overlay the necks and need to recover some objects can affect the organization. A delicate surface or irregular shape require different attentions from a regular box. Explain then if you expect a single withdrawal at the end of the period or intermediate access. Do not artificially compress the estimate by thinking of a perfect ink: the arrangement must allow a handling compatible with the objects.
Ask for a readable proposal
In the quote it seeks a distinction between transfer to the deposit, possible packing and dismantling, period of custody and delivery. Ask which unit is used for space assessment and how to manage inventory or duration changes. The photos help, but for complex situations a site visit can be useful to agree. Before confirming, verify that the attached list corresponds to what will really start: important additions at the last moment can require a new organization.
Prepare photographs showing quantities
For a very full room, send a general view and images of the contents of the furniture that will have to be packed. A first floor of the sofa does not show the boxes behind the door. Accompanies photos with short notes, indicating what will be excluded.
