Goods lifts and office moves: checks before collection
The presence of a hoist can be useful for transferring an office, but it is not enough to define the service. You need to check the available system, the path that connects it to the environments and conditions established by those who manage it.
Collect information from the building
Ask the relevant contact person for useful dimensions, door opening, scope and mode of use. Returns the system data effectively available, without deducting them from an external photograph or from the memory of a previous transport.
It is important to know if use requires authorized personnel, booking or other conditions. The planning must comply with these indications; the move is not the time to improvise modes of use or intervention on the plant.
Check the route to the cabin
Measure doors, corridors and maneuver spaces before and after the system. A cabin-compatible furniture may not be able to reach it or get out of it in the necessary direction. Photograph changes of direction and fixed obstacles.
Consider also the distance from the loading area. If the climber is located at a point other than the entry usable from the middle, it is necessary to describe the whole route. The advantage of the system should be evaluated together with the other movements required.
Comparing data with the most challenging elements
Meeting tables, cabinets and counters require specific verification. Communicate components size after the expected dismantling and weight when known. The choice of how to handle them must be evaluated by those who perform the job.
Do not arbitrarily divide the weight or hypothesize eligible loads on the basis of free space in the cabin. Scope and directions of use are constraints to be respected, not values to be reinterpreted to bring back a furniture in the program.
Organize availability and expectations
If the plant is shared with other activities, it agrees a window compatible with the load. Clarify who opens and who intervenes in case of unavailability. The presence of the contact person must be coordinated with the withdrawal or delivery sequence.
Predict an ordered area for waiting packages, without taking in necessary steps or accesses. Do not accumulate everything in front of the door: the team must be able to maneuver the big elements and maintain legible the order of operations.
Evaluate alternatives before the expected day
If doubt persists, report the problem in the site visit or in the request. The company will be able to verify alternative routes or the need for a different organization. For DUDA sends photographs, plant data and inventory: the proposal must be based on the access really usable, avoiding to indicate generically “mountains present” when the conditions for use have not been confirmed.
