Plants during a move: what to agree before collection
Plants are not boxes to add at the last moment. Dimensions, pots, fragility and travel conditions require a specific evaluation. The first question is whether and under what conditions may be included in the service requested.
Communicating real quantities and features
Send complete photos, indicating total height, width of the foliage and size of the vessels. A heavy container changes the handling even when the plant is small. Mark fragile materials, protruding supports and any element that makes the grip or passage difficult through the doors.
Do not assume that plant transport is included in the general quote. Ask for a confirmation and clarify who will prepare pots, underwaters and protections. If the service is not available or the route is unsuitable, you can arrange a separate mode in advance, instead of facing the problem during loading.
Avoid improvised preparations
The needs change according to the plant and the period. For irrigation, pruning or other care operations, turn to a green professional when necessary: there is no identical preparation for all species. Avoid drastic interventions performed only to reduce the footprint the day before the transfer.
Check that there are no leaks from the containers and that loose accessories can be collected separately. A protection should not crush branches or prevent safe handling of the vase. Those who carry out the transport must know the characteristics of the neck, including what cannot be inclined or compressed.
Consider special expectations and destinations
Communicate any intermediate stops, deferred deliveries or periods in which the new home will not be accessible. Plants should not be automatically assimilated to furniture intended for storage. Ask explicitly whether the planned organizational solution is compatible, without deducing it from the fact that there is a available space.
For cross-border transfers, check the rules applicable to the route and destination to the competent authorities. Do not rely on a previous experience made with other countries or other species. This verification must take place before including the plants in the definitive inventory and cannot be replaced by a generic description on the cardboard.
Prepare arrival and separate accessories
Locate an arrival area that does not block corridors, fittings or passages. The final placement can be evaluated calmly, according to the needs of the plant and the available spaces. Keep recognizable underlays, supports and other elements that will have to be gathered after transfer.
When delivery compares the plants and the pots with the prepared list, reporting any observations through the agreed channels. Do not leave containers in areas where they can be bumped during the rest of the work. A separate organization makes the limits of the service clear and helps protect both the plants and the furnishings that travel in the same move.
