Redelivery from storage: preparing your home and arrival schedule
The end of the deposit period opens a new phase of the move. Before returning home, you will need updated information about the destination, the pieces to be delivered and the required work. It is not enough to resume the withdrawal program: in the meantime address, room arrangement or access can be changed. A plan of return therefore starts from a concrete verification of the current situation.
Confirm which goods must go out
Compare inventory with what you want to receive and report any withdrawals already occurred. If some furniture needs to be kept, prepare two separate lists, without relying on a generic description. For the disassembled furniture includes connected components and accessories. Also check that any new purchases have not altered the choices: a library replaced during the works may no longer have the intended destination. The final list helps to organize the load consistently.
Update access and property conditions
Send complete address, floor, information on the elevator and photographs of the route when useful. Report steps, doors, courtyards or operational limitations to check with the building. If there are any jobs, check that access is not occupied by materials or equipment. When delivery requires the use of external spaces, the organization must be evaluated before the date. Do not assume that the conditions encountered at the exit of the old house are also valid for the new entrance.
Establish the room order
A free house allows to prepare the sequence of accommodation. Locate priority environments and decide where the larger furniture will go before the arrival of the packages. Avoid filling corridors and areas necessary for assembly immediately. A simple plant with room names can be more useful than many instructions given at the same time. If more people participate in decisions, choose a contact person who collects the indications and solves the doubts about the placement.
Check the required reassemblies
Communicate which furniture must be reassembled and which could require a new evaluation because the environment has changed. Opinions, available measures and disposal of plants may affect some interventions. Do not include structural changes or complex adaptations as improvised requests during delivery: they must be described before and evaluated by those who possess the necessary skills. Instructions, photographs and containers of the hardware are available, especially if you have kept them personally during the custody.
Close inventory in an orderly manner
At the end, compare the packages received with the exit list and note any points to be clarified. Keep the documentation and reference photos, following the agreed methods for communication or reporting. Open the boxes with an order that lets the environments practicable and separates the reusable packing materials. The delivery ends more easily when each object has a predicted place and what remains to be settled is precisely identified.
