Furniture dismantling and reassembly: preparing before your move
Measurements, photographs and fittings: organise furniture for assembly in your new home.
Identify the furniture to be dismantled
Prepare a separate list for cabinets, beds, bookcases and other furniture. Indicates the material, size and presence of sliding doors, mirrors or delicate components. Not all furniture requires the same intervention: some pass whole, others must be separated into several elements. Shows open and closed photographs to allow a preliminary assessment, leaving the operators the choice of the procedure.
Empty and make the area accessible
Remove personal items from drawers and shelves, unless otherwise agreed. Leave the space around the furniture and the way to the exit. Put the assembly instructions aside if you keep them. Report faulty hinges, smooth panels and already loose fixings: knowing the initial state helps to distinguish the needs of the furniture from the required operations for transfer.
Keep components recognizable
It agrees to identify the panels and the collection of the hardware. A bag related to each furniture avoids mixing screws and accessories of different furniture. Photos of the links and the provisions of the shelves can be useful, but do not replace the manufacturer's instructions. For electrical or hydraulic elements, you separately define the necessary interventions and skills.
Check the location in the new home
Check height, width and depth available, considering doors, batter and sockets. A smaller room may require a different arrangement: any adaptations must be evaluated before, not data for included in the reassembly. At the end, it controls the opening of the doors, the sliding of the drawers and the interventions agreed.
