Dismantled furniture in storage: organising components

When pick-up and delivery time passes, a disassembled furniture must remain identifiable even without seeing it assembled. The preparation of the deposit therefore covers components, accessories and documentation, not only the protection of the surfaces.

Create a tab for every furniture

Before the dismantling, he photographed the furniture and noted environment, dimensions and internal configuration. Assign a short code that will follow all its components. If there are two similar cabinets, use separate codes and photographs that allow you to recognize them.

Store the list of accessories, including doors, drawers, shelves and special handles. It is not necessary to describe each screw in the general inventory, but it must be clear where the hardware is collected and which furniture belongs to. A composition divided into several groups requires readable references even after weeks or months.

Agree to packing and place parts

Mark delicate surfaces, glasses and components already damaged. The protections and arrangements must be adapted to the actual and agreed elements with those who manage the deposit. Avoid universal indications on how to stack panels: dimensions, materials and support points can change the solution.

Do not close in packing materials definitive wet or dirty components without an appropriate assessment. Communicate any abnormal conditions before the withdrawal. The objective is to deliver goods described correctly, so any particular needs can be considered before the entrance to the deposit.

Think about the order of the future reassembly

If you expect to pick up the furniture at different times, say it right away. A single wardrobe should not depend on hardware guarded with other furniture intended to stay longer. The documentation must also be able to be recovered without looking inside all the boxes of the house.

Indicates the intended destination, but distinguishes the information confirmed by the still provisional ones. When the new home is defined, it sends photographs and measures of access. The fact that a furniture has entered the warehouse does not prove that it can be delivered and reassembled in any room.

Check the components to return

At the delivery, he uses the codes to check that the assembly groups are complete and that hardware and instructions are available. If the composition is different from the initial one, it communicates the change before planning the work. Do not wait for all the pieces to be distributed in the rooms.

After the reassembly retains the accessories excluded with a clear description. In the request to DUDA specifies that the service provides for a deposit phase between dismantling and delivery: indicative duration, partial withdrawals and final placement are different information, all useful to discuss a coherent organization.

If a family member manages the return, share with him the list of codes and the planned arrangement. The continuity of information is particularly important when the recipient was not present at the time of withdrawal.
