Hinged-door wardrobes: space and door clearance in your new bedroom
Moving a swinging wardrobe means keeping a composition and inserting it into a different room. The most useful verification is not only about how much wall it occupies: it is necessary to understand if doors and drawers can be opened comfortably after installation.
Drawing the encumbrance with open doors
On a simple floor of the room it marks wall, bed, bedside tables and door. It brings back the outer dimensions of the wardrobe and the space occupied by the doors during the opening. Do not rely on the photograph of the real estate announcement: a larger bed or a door that opens in the opposite direction can make a seemingly suitable location uncomfortable.
Also check the inside drawers. In some configurations they have to go out beyond the open door, so the frontal passage really serves. If the room is still empty, establish the layout now avoids having to move the furniture as soon as it is reassembled.
Recognize composition modules
Photograph the inside of each compartment, proceeding from left to right. Shelves, hangers sticks and drawers are not always interchangeable. A small numbered scheme helps to preserve the desired layout without writing directly on the finished surfaces.
Mark the hinges that move, doors that touch the floor and backs already deformed. The move does not automatically delete these defects. Free the rooms and protect the accessories
Remove personal items, including boxes placed above the furniture. Make jewelry, documents and small items in containers that you will personally manage. Agree with the team if some internal accessories need to be removed from the operators; do not disassemble structural parts without knowing the manufacturer's system.
Keep separate items from other cabinets. Two similar compositions can use different screws or hinges. The identification of the hardware must follow the furniture and, when necessary, the single module, so the reassembly does not depend on a separate container of pieces.
Verify use and stability after assembly
Once the work is done, open the doors individually and then in the combinations you will normally use. Check that the handle does not impact walls or other furniture and that shelves and accessories are in the agreed position. Any wall fixings should be evaluated according to the furniture, instructions and support available.
