Sliding-door wardrobes: preparing for a move in Milan
A wardrobe with sliding doors requires attention to the configuration of the furniture and the exit path. The number of doors, alone, does not describe the work: they count dimensions, materials, sliding systems and floor conditions in the new room.
Document doors and internal configuration
Before the site visit, it photographed the closed, open and sided furniture. Add a photo of the visible tracks and an overview of the internal shelves, without removing carter or components. Mark any mirrors, glasses, shock absorbers and parts already damaged. If you know brand and model, keep this information together with photographs.
Measure width, height and external depth. Note if the ceiling is very close to the top and if the closet occupies a whole niche. The team must be able to distinguish a free mobile from a room-adapted composition: swabs, frames or connections to other elements can change the dismantling sequence.
Preparing the room before the retreat
Empty completely shelves and drawers according to the agreements taken. Dresses, boxes and loose accessories must not remain hidden inside the furniture. It also frees the space in front of the doors and communicates the presence of a bed that hinders the work: it may be necessary to plan before the shift of the latter.
Do not attempt to lift the doors to speed up the move. Weights, anti-derrailing systems and release modes depend on the model. The removal and the packing must be entrusted to the operators in charge, who must be able to work with sufficient space and with the correct number of people.
Check the destination, not only width
In the new room check the position of doors, sockets, batter and radiators. Consider the necessary encumbrance to the assembly, in addition to that of the finished furniture. A niche of the right width may however not offer the required space to assemble or lift certain elements.
Indicates the plan, the path of the stairs and the useful dimensions of the elevator. The doors can be the most challenging component to move; a photograph of the landing helps to understand where the path changes direction. The operating solution is defined on the basis of these checks, without deducting it from the only measurements of the room.
Try the slide at the end
At reassembly completed, it observes together with the operators opening, closing and alignment of the doors. Report immediately unusual frictions or contacts between the panels. Ask to distinguish any pre-existing defects from the necessary adjustments in the new location.
Keep any residual hardware identified and the instructions available. Charge the cabinet again only after the conclusion of the agreed checks. To request an evaluation at DUDA, send photographs of the furniture and accesses of both houses: allow to discuss a concrete intervention, not a generic transport of three doors.
