Storage beds: arranging dismantling and transport
The container bed combines a furnishing structure with an opening system. To transfer it you need to know model and size, but also organize the emptying of the compartment and the availability of the room: it is not enough to remove the sheets.
Separate what it contains from what it consists of
Empty the compartment in advance and pack linen, blankets and items in separate boxes. Indicates on the box the content and the room of destination, avoiding to call each neck simply “bed”. The contents of the compartment should not become a hidden load during handling.
Prepare a small kit for the first night and keep it separated from the other boxes. If the installation takes place after other deliveries, it agrees how to handle the mattress while waiting. A room full of cartons can prevent you from assembling the furniture you need before all the others.
Communicate the type of opening without intervening on the mechanism
Picture the bed closed and, only if it is normally usable safely, the open configuration. Indicates brand, model and presence of electrical functions. Irregular opening signal, noise, bent parts or missing components: it is information to be discussed before the intervention.
Do not drop pistons, springs or lifting systems to facilitate work. These components can be subject to loads and require specific procedures. The eventual dismantling must be managed by the operators responsible according to the characteristics of the product; a generic guide cannot establish the correct sequence for all beds.
Measure headboard, network and route
A large or high headboard can be the component that limits the passage. It carries its size together with those of the network and reports whether it is connected to bedside tables or coatings. Photograph corridors, doors and landings, especially where the route requires a rotation.
In the new room check sockets, batter and lateral space. The bed must be fitted and used, including the opening of the container in the configuration provided by the manufacturer. A layout that works with the closed bed may interfere with shelves or other furnishings when the floor is raised.
Conclude with a shared verification
At the end of the installation, ask for a verification of the operation and clarify any limitations detected. Do not immediately load the container with heavy objects without considering the manufacturer's indications. Keep instructions, remote controls and accessories identified in a place that can be reached.
In the request of quote, describe the furniture as a container bed and specify the actual measurements. For a move in Milan, this information goes hand in hand with the accesses of the two apartments: it allows to evaluate movement and reassembly as parts of the same work, avoiding discovering the complexity only on the day of the withdrawal.
Remember to indicate whether network and mattress will both be transferred or if one of the two will be replaced. Similar nominal measures are not sufficient to confirm the compatibility between new structures and components.
