Moving a kitchen: which measurements do you really need?
A kitchen that enters the new room is not necessarily ready to be restored. The layout of the modules must be compared with attacks, openings and characteristics of the environment. The preliminary point is to separate the transport from the possible adaptation project.
Measuring both rooms with the same criterion
Prepare a pattern of the current kitchen and one of the destination. Doors wall length, room height, door and window position, ledges and recesses. It also signals the encumbrances that interrupt a seemingly free wall, such as pillars or bins.
Indicates from which point you have taken the measures. Correct numbers but related to different points can create misunderstandings. Panoramic photographs must accompany the scheme, do not replace it. List modules and household appliances
Identify bases, wall units, columns, angles and removable accessories. Note the widths and photograph the internal parts, especially if they host integrated mechanisms or appliances. Store device brand and model, along with available manuals.
Distinguish what you want to reuse from what will be replaced. Inserting a new appliance at the last moment can change the dimensions, connections and processing. If an element has damage or operating problems, report it separately: the transfer is not equivalent to its repair.
Detect connections without intervention on plants
On the design indicates the visible position of water, drains, sockets and connecting points of the luminaires. Do not open plants or remove protections to get photos. Interventions on the connections and verifications of competence must be entrusted to the appropriate professionals.
Clarify those who will take care of detachments and connections and at what times. If the furniture is assembled before the room is ready, some processing can remain suspended. It therefore serves a shared sequence between movers, climbers and other in charge, without considering all activities as a single indistinct performance.
Define what includes the reassembly
Ask for a description of the work that distinguishes dismantling, transport, assembly and possible adaptations. Tops, hoops, hips and backrests may require specific evaluations. A possible solution on the card must however be verified with respect to the components actually available.

Insert in the scheme also the opening direction of the doors and useful heights under any windows. These are details that can affect the daily use of bases and columns, even when the overall length seems sufficient.
