Bilingual inventories: identifying packages abroad
A bilingual inventory is used when preparing the in Milan load and those receiving abroad do not use the same language. The goal is not to translate every detail of the house, but to make the elements recognizable and reduce the interpretations during delivery.
Maintain a language-independent code
Attribut to each neck a unique code and keep it identical in the two versions. The description can change the language; the reference should not change. For a mobile divided into multiple elements use a main code and a component progression.
This system helps to connect sides, doors and hardware without relying only on the name of the furniture. Two white cabinets can have similar dimensions, but incompatible accessories. Labels must be distinguished even before mounting.
Translate words that guide work
Focus on the type of object, room, quantity and operational indications you really need. Avoid family names as “mobile of the grandmother”: they make sense to you, but they do not help a person who does not know the house. A photograph associated with the code can better clarify a very long description.
For particular objects, compare the translation with a person who knows both languages. An automatic translation should not be considered verified, especially when the term changes the meaning of the handling instructions.
Distinguish room of origin and destination
The contents of the Milan study could be intended for a room in the new home. Predict two separate fields, instead of correcting handwriting at different times. The team must recognize which information guides the discharge.
Prepare a small legend of the plant and send it to the contact person you receive. If the names of the rooms change during the project, update the legend by keeping the codes of the packages: so the revision does not make all the labels already applied useless.
Use only one final version
Indicates a date of review on the document and agrees which copy to use at the withdrawal. When you add necks, enter them without renewing those already ready. An entirely changed numbering can create errors even if the list content is correct.
For delivery checks, leave room for annotations. Observations should indicate code, detected condition and agreed action. The translation must make the problem understandable, without turning a practical description into an unchecked conclusion.
Adapt the list to the purpose
This document facilitates the organization of the international move and communication with the recipient. If customs acts are required, it is necessary to check separately the format, language and data provided by the competent authority: the bilingual version does not automatically replace them. To prepare it with DUDA, share the useful language on arrival, the definitive list and the room plan, avoiding inserting into the personal data boxes that do not serve the delivery.
