Delivery abroad: arranging an authorised recipient
If you cannot be present at the delivery of the international move, a trusted person can help you manage your arrival, according to the service agreements. To work, this step requires more than one phone number communicated at the last moment.
Define what the referent can decide
It agrees in writing who receives and what indications can give. You need to know where to fix the furniture, how to check the list and what changes require your intervention. Any necessary forms of authorisation must be agreed with those who perform the service.
A friend available to open the door may not be available to follow a whole day of assembly. Clarify the required commitment and expect a backup contact. The operational role must not be left to a different interpretation for each person.
Delivering an essential file
Send definitive inventory, room plant and list of operations included. Evide the necks to be opened immediately and the furniture to be mounted. Pictures of the most recognizable pieces help those who have never seen the furniture in the house of Milan.
The contact person does not necessarily need all personal documents or the customs file. Share the information relevant to your assignment, through a private channel. Port codes and copies of the keys should not be entrusted to external labels.
A brief preparatory call with the referent may be useful, using the plant as a reference. Check that it has understood the priorities and that it knows how to recognize the furniture for which no change to the composition is expected.
Check access before your appointment
The person in charge must be able to really open all the steps: building, courtyard, elevator if planned and apartment. Ask her to check that the environments are free and that no incompatible work with the exhaust has begun.
If the building requires a reservation or an agreement with the condominium representative, this verification must be completed before arrival. Do not transfer to the delegate the task of improvising a solution when the load is already in front of the building.
Prepare the control of the necks
Explain how to use the numbering and where to write any comments. The verification must cover identifiable elements: number of the neck, mobile affected and condition found. A clear photograph can accompany the description, respecting operational agreements.
The contact person must be able to consult you when an unforeseen decision emerges. See a band where you are reachable, taking into account the place where you are. A message sent to a dead phone does not solve a doubt on the location of a closet.
Communicate the authorisation to all people involved
Before the trip confirms name, contact, useful language and agreed identification. Update any replacements promptly. For the DUDA request, please note that from the beginning you will not be present at delivery: the plan will include the information required to the referent, keeping clear the boundary between receiving the goods, fittings provided and additional requests to be evaluated.
