Three packing mistakes: too much tape, newspaper touching items and empty space
Increasing the amount of material does not always mean increasing protection. In preparing the boxes of the move it is useful to check how each element works: the cardboard supports, the protectors separate and stabilize, the tape allows an adequate closure.
The tape makes no new a ruined cardboard
A box with hidden corners or deformed bottom deserves an evaluation before being reused. Wrap it completely of tape can hide the problem, without reconstructing the resistance of the cardboard. The first control therefore concerns the container: conditions, format and compatibility with the load you want to prepare.
The closure must also be ordered. Alettes that do not match may indicate excessive filling or too large object. Don't force them just to finish the job. If the box is overloaded, split the content; if the shape is unsuitable, choose a different container before applying other tape.
The paper is not suitable for any surface
The card available in the house may seem like an immediate solution, but it should be considered the contact with the object. Inks, dirt and non-compatible materials can leave traces on some surfaces. For delicate content choose appropriate protections and, in case of doubt, ask for directions before wrapping everything in the same material.
Do not use wet or dirty sheets and do not treat a common object and a fine finish in the same way. Filling material and direct contact material can have different functions. This distinction helps to choose more precisely, without claiming that any card solves every need.
A free space can turn into movement
When an object moves inside the neck can bump walls and other contents. Spaces should be managed with adequate materials, without creating unnecessary compressions. Do not randomly thread a heavy tool between fragile objects to fill a vacuum: the result could be ordered outside but problematic inside.
The control also concerns the upper part. An almost empty box should not be considered automatically easy to load together with the others. Indicate any particularities and agree the preparation. The goal is to obtain a stable and recognizable neck, compatible with the content and with the intended handling.
Make a verification before labeling
Before closing observes bottom, separations and arrangement of objects. Look for sharp parts, improper contact surfaces and elements that may be lost during opening. After closing, it indicates room and essential content. Avoid brusque or shaking tests: if you have doubts about internal stability, reopen and correct carefully.
For the packages prepared independently communicate to the team which contain delicate objects or have requested special solutions. Don't wait till they're already in the middle. A concrete description allows to discuss any improvements before transport and makes the distinction between packing performed by the customer and activities required to the operators clearer.
