Establish what is really yours

In a shared apartment the boundary between personal items and common equipment can be little obvious. Before packing, clarify with roommates such as tools, small appliances and furniture must remain. Assign a label to the goods that leave. Do not include in the request a closet of the property thinking of deciding after: the load changes and you could leave the room incomplete. Keep free space photos for your final control.

A few square meters do not mean a few hills

A room can contain many books, dispensers, clothes and tools. It counts boxes by type and indicates bulky objects, such as study chair, monitor or bicycle. The books should be distributed in handy packages: a large fully full box becomes difficult to move. Keep university documents, computer required to study and valuables in personal luggage. The list must represent the real load, not only the number of rooms.

Keys and presence in the two housings

Agree when you can leave the room and when you have access to the new one. In a residence or in a building with concierge, ask for the entrance and use of common spaces. Do not assume that the roommate is available to receive the packages: an operational authorisation requires an informed and accessible person. If the two availability do not coincide, report it before fixing the transport and evaluates an alternative organization.

Prepare a room that you can immediately use

In the new accommodation you decide before bed, desk and boxes. Do not occupy with the hills the spaces of the other inhabitants. Prepare a kit for the first night and a bag for the lessons of the next days: open all the boxes looking for a notebook slows down the reorder. If you need to mount a desk, check that all pieces and hardware travel together, with a recognizable code.

Before closing the last hills, check out the shared spaces where you may have left objects: bathroom shelves, balcony, storage room and kitchen shelves. Take this round calmly, without automatically adding everything to the transport. A photo of the set of ready boxes helps to update the amount communicated and to distinguish the load from personal luggage.

Request a proportional service

In the request it indicates that it is a room, but it still attaches the complete list. Precise if you only want transport or even packing and dismantling. Mark the exact addresses, the plan and the presence of narrow stairs. The price cannot be deducted from the definition of move students: accesses, quantities and required activities count. Update the list if you add a withdrawal from a basement or from the parents' home.
