A sofa should be measured in its real footprint
The number of places is not enough to see if a sofa will enter the new house. It carries width, depth and height; if it is angular, add the measurements of the peninsula and indicates on which side it is facing it. Specifies whether the composition can be reversed or is fixed. A small hand-drawn plant can help avoid misinterpretations.
Describe coating and status
Indicates the material of the coating if known, the possibility to undo it and the conditions of the cushions. Mark stains, tears, yields and persistent smells. Photographing only the best part makes a serene arrangement more difficult: it also shows seat, back and worn areas. For a reclining armchair or a sofa bed describe the observed operation and any problems.
The passage counts as much as the room
Before agreeing to the withdrawal, value doors, corridors, stairs and elevator. Write if you can remove feet or armrests and if the sofa is composed of separate modules. Do not promise that it will pass everywhere because it has entered your home: the path of the interested person can be different. If the transport requires assistance, it should be arranged before blocking the appointment.
Sale and gift require the same details
Also for a free sofa we need clear conditions: available date, withdrawal area and responsibility for handling. The gift concerns the object, not automatically the transport service. Avoid leaving the furniture outside waiting for an unconfirmed person. Keep it protected until delivery and communicate immediately if the deal jumps, so you can reorganize your move calendar.
