How to pack plates and glasses before moving
Paper, separation between items and suitable boxes: pack crockery with care.
Prepare a free work plan
Assemble the crockery on a stable and clean surface, away from the edge. First select the items to transfer and separate the already damaged pieces. Keep packing paper close, durable boxes and material to fill the gaps. For objects of particular value or very thin it agrees a specific protection with those who will perform the work, instead of treating them as common crockery.
Protect each piece separately
Wrap the dishes one at a time, avoiding the rigid surfaces to directly touch the nearby objects. For glasses protect edge and stem carefully, without force paper inside or exert pressure on the thin parts. Do not entrust the protection to the only “fragile” writing: what prevents shocks and movements is the internal packing.
Choose a manageable box
Prefer containers suitable for weight and in good condition, without deformed funds. Prepare a layer of protection on the bottom and separate objects with suitable material. Hit the free spaces without compressing the pieces; the content should not move freely. Do not fill a large box of heavy crockery. Close and strengthen the bottom and verify that the neck is liftable safely.
Label to find and open
Write the destination room and a synthetic description, like “Cooks – Glasses”. Feed the packages and keep the same number on the inventory. Mark the delicate content to the team, agreeing how to handle it. In the new house prepares a free plan to open the boxes and remove the protections calmly.
